No digital-nomad visa; work routes are purpose-specific
Irish visitor conditions prohibit paid or unpaid work. Ireland publishes separate employment-permit and atypical-working routes but no general digital-nomad status for a US employee retaining an overseas job, so the correct permission depends on the actual duties and duration.
- Obtain visitor permission from the immigration officer at the border
- Do not perform paid or unpaid work on ordinary visitor permission
- Use an employment permit, atypical permission or other route matching the activity
- Register the immigration permission for an authorised stay longer than 90 days
- Review Irish-source duties, employer exposure and Canadian tax-residence review
