No DNV; self-employment permit may fit a narrow group
The Dutch IND self-employed permit is for applicants whose activity serves an essential interest to the Dutch economy. It is purpose-specific, not a general digital-nomad route for an employee continuing foreign employment online.
- Keep all Schengen visits within the rolling 90/180-day allowance
- Do not treat a visa-free visit as ongoing remote-work permission
- Use an immigration route matching the actual work or business activity
- Self-employed applicants must satisfy the Dutch economic-interest test
- Review Dutch payroll, insurance, tax and continuing Canadian tax-residence review
